The entire Coldwater Mill Heritage Foundation (CMHF) Board of Directors were on hand to see their Chair, Gwen Robinson receive the General Heritage Preservation Award in November, 2015.  This prestigious award was presented by the History Committee of the Orillia Museum of Art & History in recognition of Gwen’s contribution and service to Coldwater and the CMHF.  Gwen stepped into the role of Chair in 2012, and has worked tirelessly with a new Board of Directors to revitalize Coldwater’s most historical and significant building into an active community venue.  While the Mill features a busy Bistro, the museum and grounds were almost forgotten until activities were added including- children’s day camps, the farmers’ market, the Duck Races, The Mill Boutique, Monday Night Music Concerts, Steampunk Festival and 2015’s Witches Walk.  The Mill actively participates in the Candle Light Parade, and hosted it’s first ever Christmas Market on Friday evenings throughout the month of December.  January of every year, sees the Annual Mill-Spiel Curling Fundraiser.

Plans are currently underway to conceptualize the future development of The Coldwater Mill, and it’s potential to fill the needs of the community in arts and culture, and historical preservation.
